Global Focus (Missions)

The words of Jesus in Matthew 29: 19-20 to “Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations,” cannot be something we talk about or focus on once or twice a year during special seasons. This must be a constant focus week-in and week-out for our church. Larry Reesor, founder and president of Global Focus, Inc. states this about churches and missions. “For most churches, missions (with an ‘s’) is a segmented, compartmentalized program that’s viewed no differently than any other of the church’s activities – it’s simply something they do if they do it at all.” In order for us to become a global church, Westwood has partnered with Global Focus to develop a plan and a process for year-round, comprehensive, integrated global education, exposure, and experience.

We are living in the greatest harvest of souls worldwide in the history of the church. The power of the Holy Spirit is working around the globe like never before. Now is the time for the church to catch the vision, mobilize resources and take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. Over the next fourteen months Westwood will join with Global Focus to develop a church wide local and global ministry plan that will give every Westwood member the opportunity to discover and fulfill their unique place of service.
