The Battle Is The Lord's
Thank you so much for joining us on this journey. As I prepared to write this journal God impressed upon me how big the mission ahead would be. We are working in three locations, taking many more people than we ever have, traveling on several different airlines and arriving at multiple times. Cindy has said often it is a logistics nightmare, but we know God has called us to this mission. God has reminded me time and again, He is in charge and the Battle ahead is His! He lead me to scripture after scripture that described times when the Children of Israel faced great challenges, but as they trusted God, He provided victory. We will not be facing a marching army, but we will be encountering trials that could prove overwhelming and at times even dangerous if we try it on our own, but with our Commander leading us and protecting us, we know that the battle is His. As you walk through the pages of this journal you too will read passage that will encourage you and remind you that God is in charge. You will have the privilege of reading the stories of your team mates who have seen God work in miraculous ways. My prayer is that each day you will come away with confidence knowing that whatever you face in that day as well as the days ahead, that God wants to help you too see victory. Purify your heart, follow His commands, expect God to show up Big and go ahead and praise Him for the victory He is going to supply. Many of you reading this journal with us will never set foot on Brazilian soil, but you are just as much apart of this team as anyone who packs a bag and travels. Your prayer will be a huge part of seeing God do amazing things. James tells us that the prayers of a righteous man avails much. That means you too need to have a pure heart and clean hands before God. We are counting on you to hold the fort down here at home and pound the doors of heaven asking God to give victory in His name. As we enter the prison, leper colony, and the medical clinic each day we know that your prayers and God’s presence goes before us, with us, and will remain after we are gone. Thank you for all you will do ahead of time. For those of you packing a bag and going, there is nothing we will do that is more important that praying and preparing our hearts. Don’t take this on half hearted. You are entering a war zone, and the enemy knows your weakness. Prepare by asking two prayer warriors to lift you up daily. Choose people you know you can count on. Then you too do the devotions daily and share with your prayer partners how they can best pray for you. The Battle is the Lord’s, but He wants us to be well prepared.
